Admissions Process
International Montessori School of Latvia is an English-medium school that blends IB PYP and Montessori principles to nurture internationally-minded leaders and compassionate problem solvers.
Submit an Interest Form
First, submit an interest form (one per family). This form provides us with some basic information about your family and gets the admissions process started.
Schedule an Admissions Meeting
Next, schedule an individual meeting with the admission director. This meeting will allow us to become better acquainted with your family and gives you an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of our programs.
Submit an Application Form
After your meeting, you will receive an application packet via email. Complete the forms and submit the packet along with copies of any additional required documents.
Schedule an Entrance Interview
Once an application packet is received by our Admissions office, they will contact you to arrange an entrance interview for the prospective student.
Pay Enrolment Fee
Following the interview and assessment, your child's completed application file will be reviewed by our administrative team and an admissions decision will be communicated with you as soon as possible. Admitted children are given two weeks to pay a non-refundable €300 enrolment fee to officially accept their offer of admission and secure their place.
Complete Registration Forms
Your child will be officially enrolled at International Montessori School of Latvia once you have received a written notification from our admissions team. The notification will include next steps and a set additional forms to be completed prior to the child's first day on campus.

Mid-Year Enrolment & Refund Policy
In the event that a student enters International Montessori School of Latvia during the school year, the partial tuition is pro-rated, based on the total months remaining in the school year, taking into account that the whole school year is 10 (ten) months.
For students leaving before the end of the IMSOL academic calendar school year, the following refund schedule applies. Families leaving the school before the end of the school year must notify the IMSOL Admissions Office in writing at least 30 days in advance. Tuition must be paid for these 30 days.
Grade Placement
In Montessori, children are grouped in classrooms with children within a three-year age band. While officially children are in a specific grade, such as Grade 2, we do not emphasize a child's grade level within the Montessori classroom environment. Instead, when we call students to work in a group, we call each child individually by name.
Grade 6 at IMSOL is the equivalent of 6th grade in the Latvian system as defined by the Latvian Ministry of Education and Science.
IMSOL is in compliance with the Latvian Ministry of Education and Science's requirements for international schools. The PYP program aligns within the first stage of basic education in Latvia.
Grade 9th at IMSOL is equivalent to Grade 9th in the Latvian system as defined by the Latvian Ministry of Education and Science.
