We are proud to be a candidate school* for the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP), a globally recognized educational framework. The IB PYP is centered around an inquiry-based, transdisciplinary curriculum framework that prioritizes building conceptual understanding. This student-centered approach to education draws upon the collective wisdom of educational research, thought leadership, and experience from IB World Schools, making it a world leader in future-focused education.

The PYP Curriculum

The PYP curriculum framework begins with the belief that students are the architects of their own learning and active partners in the educational process. It places a strong emphasis on people and relationships, fostering a robust learning community.

PYP students are encouraged to take initiative and responsibility for their learning. Through inquiry and reflection, they develop knowledge, conceptual understandings, skills, and the attributes of the IB Learner Profile. This empowers them to create positive changes in their own lives, their communities, and the world.

Standards-Based Learning

To maintain high academic rigor, IMSOL integrates IB PYP with the C3 Framework for Social Studies and NGSS Science standards. By combining the IB PYP framework with these academic standards, we create an educational experience that is both holistic and rigorous. This approach equips our students with the conceptual understanding and subject-specific knowledge they need to excel academically and thrive as informed, empathetic, and globally competent individuals.

The IB PYP framework is centered around six transdisciplinary themes, encouraging students to explore real-world issues and make connections across various subject areas. These themes are woven into our curriculum, ensuring that students develop a deeper understanding of the world.
